P. Joseph Montana
Chairman, Land Use, Real Estate Taxation and Economic Development
Joseph Montana’s practice is in the area of municipal law and financing. He has extensive experience in economic development, planning, zoning, real estate taxation and tax increment financing. He has authored creative programs to assist units of local government in their efforts to restructure services to increase productivity and implement cost-effective techniques. He has also assisted several communities in expanding and diversifying their tax bases.
Montana has served as corporate counsel to a number of municipalities within the metropolitan area. He has also served as special counsel to several units of local government throughout the state. Montana has written a number of articles addressing land use and municipal practices.
Montana received his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University and his bachelor of arts from American University in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the Bars of the State of Illinois and United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the Home Rule Attorneys Committee of the Illinois Municipal League and the Illinois State Bar Association. |
