Leslie Quade Kennedy

Leslie Quade Kennedy is an experienced litigator who graduated from Saint Xavier University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with emphasis in accounting. She earned her Juris Doctorate from IIT Chicago Kent College of Law in 1991. She is a member of the Council of School Attorneys, Illinois State Bar Association, and the Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

In addition to handling litigation matters for school districts and municipalities, Ms. Kennedy practices in the area of school law including labor and employment matters such as negotiations, grievances and employment termination. She also serves as a disciplinary hearing officer, and handles the firms special education needs. Kennedy has lectured extensively on difficult legal topics that include residency, discipline, and search and seizure of students.

Prior to joining Odelson & Sterk, Ms. Kennedy served as an assistant state’s attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. There she litigated felony jury trials, handled capital case post-conviction and DNA matters, wrote and argued appellate briefs. Additionally she served as the state’s attorney’s executive clemency coordinator. 
Ms. Kennedy has also held two elected positions: alderman for the City of Blue Island and school board member for Cook County School District 130.
