Michael J. McGrath

As a partner at Odelson & Sterk, Mike McGrath’s trial experience and professional background continue to serve his clients well. His practice is chiefly in the areas of municipal law, municipal prosecution, school and labor law. A graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a degree in economics, he earned his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School.
While serving as assistant state’s attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, he prosecuted hundreds of cases as a trial attorney and argued more than 25 cases on appeal before the Illinois Appellate Court. His service included felony review for Cook County’s Fifth Municipal District and as special assistant corporation counsel for the City of Chicago.
As village attorney for Willow Springs, Mr. McGrath provides counsel to the village president and board of trustees and serves as adjudication officer. He is a licensed hearing officer, serving the villages of Evergreen Park and Orland Hills.
Mr. McGrath is a member of the Southwest Bar Association, where he served as president; the Chicago Bar Association; the Illinois State Bar Association, and the bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. |
