Matthew M. Welch

Matthew M. Welch brings to Odelson & Sterk a background in local government and municipal law. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Law School. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

He served as deputy director of the Chicago Park District’s Department of Park Services, where he assisted in the management of the district’s privatized services and real estate assets including Soldier Field, the Chicago Harbor System and the Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island. He provided bid preparations and contract and lease negotiations, as well as oversight of contractor compliance.

Mr. Welch served as legislative liaison of the Chicago Park District’s Department of Intergovernmental Affairs. As the legislative liaison, he worked closely with elected officials and governmental agencies in municipal, state, and federal forums advocating for district legislative and administrative interests.
