Robert Wilder graduated from Benedictine University in 1990 and from the John Marshall Law School, cum laude, in 1998. He is a member of the Bar of the State of Illinois and the Bar of the State of Florida and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and in the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
Rob has extensive litigation and appellate experience. He has litigated cases in several counties in Illinois, as well as in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He has also argued before the Illinois Appellate Court, the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and co-authored a brief in the U.S. Supreme Court.
For the past 10 years, Rob has focused on constitutional disputes and tort litigation defense. He has successfully defended defamation, consumer fraud, wrongful death, fire damage, construction defects, and personal injury cases. Rob also has significant experience in complex multi-party litigation, including litigation arising out of the E2 nightclub incident. Although his focus was on the defense of civil litigation, he also successfully prosecuted a number of personal injury and property loss cases on behalf of plaintiffs. Most recently, Rob was a Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Naperville, handling the City’s major litigation.
Since joining Odelson & Sterk, Ltd., Rob has concentrated on defending personal injury, civil rights lawsuits, and employment-related claims brought against municipalities, police officers and school districts. He also advises municipal clients in the creation of legislation and on employment issues.
Rob is active in the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and has been published in the Illinois Defense Counsel Quarterly.
